The Beam Team Gives Back

The holidays are all about celebrating another great year and being around the ones you love. Given the unforeseen events of the past couple of years, many families find themselves struggling during this time of year. In honor of the giving season, The Beam Team partnered with charities around our Home Depot, Grainger, and CVS job sites to donate almost $5,000 to those families in need.

Building the customer experience is one of our core values that drives our desire to serve the communities around our legendary brand’s store locations. This holiday season, we were honored to have partnered with charities such as The Place in Georgia, Child and Family Services in Massachusetts, Crosspointe Church in North Carolina, and Helping Hands Shelter in Maryland. Additionally, we donated 200 meals to Atlanta Missions and multiple care packages to Troopsters.

The Beam Team (located in Alpharetta, GA) was recently on a local job site in Dawsonville, GA. We connected with The Place as it serves our local community through providing financial emergency assistance, clothing, food, educational opportunities, and numerous support services to children. With the help of our donation, The Place was able to sponsor over 2,400 children gifts this past Christmas.

Family is the most important thing at The Beam Team, and we believe in doing what we can to help families in need. In Hyannis, MA near a Home Depot jobsite, we partnered with Child and Family Services to support in their efforts of providing counseling, family support, and temporary foster home care for children. Similarly, in Raleigh, NC near two Home Depot jobsites, Crosspointe Church supports children and families by providing Christmas gifts that they might not be able to afford. This past Christmas, The Beam Team’s donation helped in Crosspointe Church’s efforts to sponsor over 400 children and over 100 families. Near a Grainger project site in Rockville, Maryland, we connected with Helping Hands Shelter which significantly impacts the lives of the families they serve. The Beam Team purchased 139 toys and clothing items to donate to these families.

As strong supporters of our Military men and women, The Beam Team always strives to show our appreciation to the troops. This holiday season, we chose to work with Troopsters. Founded and operated by veterans, they know what it’s like to be deployed and have personal interest in sending the best care packages to our heroes. The Beam Team donated 10 care packages to be distributed to soldiers, airmen, sailors, marines, coast guardsmen, and veterans. Lastly, after working alongside Home Depot in their efforts to rebuild veteran housing facilities this past summer, we learned more about the local veteran homeless community. This inspired us to partner with Atlanta Missions, the city’s most prominent and longest-running provider of services to homeless men, women, and children, to donate 200 meals on Christmas Day.

Lori Ellis, The Beam Team’s SR. Director of Human Resources, played a huge role in helping us execute this generous mission. She worked with our regional directors to target the top charities local to our current projects and organize the gift lists to donate to each family. Terry Reese, The Beam Team’s Construction Project Manager, volunteered at the Marine Corps Toys for Tots in our local Stone Mountain, GA distribution center. Terry drove a forklift, unloading approximately twelve semi-trucks filled with toys. The toys were then sorted by age and gender. At Christmas, Toys for Tots coordinators, with the assistance of local social welfare agencies, church groups, and other local community agencies, distributed more than 18 million toys to 7 million less fortunate children.

As our company grows each year, we hope to continue to give back on a bigger level. Being family owned and driven by family values, we strive to come together to make a positive difference in our own communities and around this country.
